🎚 What the money lane reports — and what it refuses to

This lane reports composition, not a grade. For each person with an itemized filing it shows the dollars in each bucket the FEC itself reports, that bucket's share of the itemized base, and the largest reported source named as a fact about a sorted list. There is no 0–100 number, no level and no letter — the "Constituents-First signal" that used to sit here has been retired, arithmetic and all.

Sourcing is disclosure-based: itemized public filings (FEC for federal offices, Utah's disclosure system for state and local), split into the FEC's own buckets. Outside ("dark-money") spending is reported at the level the filing supports and never as a dollar figure, because outside spending is not itemized to the candidate. No motive is inferred anywhere. A filing shows where money came from. It does not show why anyone voted for anything, and this lane never says it does.

Coverage, stated up front. Itemized filings are on file for a small minority of the people PolitiDex carries, and every profile says so. Where a filing is missing that is missing data — it is not a finding about the person, and no surface reads it as one.
